Xiaopu Culture Center/DNA

Located on an irregular former industrial lot in the well known art village Songzhuang, Xiaopu Cultural Center is a multi-functional complex including exhibition galleries, five residency artist studios, exhibition workshop, art shop, and administration.
The diverse programs are unified through a Tangram layout adapting to the site, while vertically distributed into dual-levels: the public program on the ground level as a compact volume with courtyards, and the private working area occupies the upper level with individual studios allowing a view traveling across the red-tiled roofscape of this typical northern Chinese village.

Jianwai SOHO is located at 39 East Third Ring Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing (opposite the China World Trade Center). The buildings have a total gross floor area of 700,000 square meters on a site of 169,000 square meters. Jianwai SOHO includes 20 high rise towers and four villas. Currently, 18 towers and the four villas are completed; and two towers are under construction. Upon completion (October 2007), there will be 20 rooftop gardens and 16 pedestrian lanes.

New 4th Army Jiangnan Headquarters Exhibition Hall/ZhangLei

Situated in Liyang, the city 70km southeast of Nanjing, New 4th Army Jiangnan Headquarter Exhibition Hall was built to memory the history of New 4th Army leaded by Communist Party during last 30’s. Fragmental granite is used here as façade cladding for the pure cubic volume which expresses very strong the monumental function of this project. The courtyard turns from internal volume to external façade, exposes itself in dramatic red section, presenting its revolutional feature of this project strongly supported by local government.

Fits to its historical context formulated in begining of 20’s in centre part of Nanjing city, Slit house express itself in harmony with surroundings in the new form of concrete facade. The entir structure & facade even roof are made from concrete with 5cm horizontal wood textile strip which shares the same scale with neibour buildings of brick built almost 100 years ago.
