1.Project Background
To identify sufficient open space for public and cultural activities in residential development areas, Guangzhou Time Rose Garden invited Dutch Architect Rem Koolhaas to design the Time Gallery of the Guangdong Gallery of Fine Arts while in its third-phase of development. They also invited the Jiakun Architects Studio to design the public activity space system and the landscape. The property owners expect the above designs to be well integrated to serve the residents and urban citizens.

The Illusive Garden——Cultural Revolution Mirror Museum/ Li Xinggang

The Jianchuan Museum Group planned by Atelier FCJZ & JiaKun Architects occupies 500 mu (about 333,000sqm) between the old town of Anren and the levee of Ciejiang River. It is composed by 3 groups of blocks with museums of different subjects and stores. Not only the memory, civilization and education, the plan also emphasizes the life and business of museum. It pays more attention rather than the physical one to the spatial city rather than the physical one.

The Reconstruction of Qingpu Gymnasium and Training Center, Shanghai/ Hu Yue

Qingpu Gymnasium and Training Center, situated in the old Qingpu District, were constructed in 1980s, with a total area of 8,430 square meters. After being used for more than 20 years, the exterior and the facilities inside th building can no longer adapt to the need of the city’s rapid development. Thus the restoration and renovation are needed to renew the two buildings, with main focus on the reconstruction of exteriors.
