About Qingyun Ma
Qingyun Ma(1965),he graduated from the Architecture Department of Tsinghua University(Cibil Engineering).After that he attended the Gradduate School of Fine Art at the University of Pennsylvania.He worked as designer and senior designer with ZBallinger,Philadelphia.He was also one of the pioneers in KPF in developing the New York firm,Kohn,Peterson,Fox business in South East Asia.In 1995,Qingyun Ma found MADA S.p.a.m.,the function of the company’s practices ranged from culture and education,to scientific research,offices and residence.Qingyun Ma has been a visiting professor in Pennsylvania,where since 1997 he works full-time.Since 1995 he is Associate Dean at the Shenzhen University.In 1996,Qingyun Ma assisted Rem Koolhaas in his research on the urban situation of the Pearl River Delta and contributed to the resulting book Great Leap Forward.In 1997 Qingyun Ma was recommended by Rem Koolhaas for participation in the forum and exhibition,”The Trend of the New Century’s Architecture”,as the only Chinese architect chosen.In 2003,Qingyun Ma collaborated with Rem Koolhaas on the Beijing CCTV project and Beijing CBD Core Design.In the same year he participated vigorously in the promotion of pilot project of Shanghai’s”one-city-nice-towns”plan,he was appointed as the architecture consultant on the Zhujiajiao Core Town construction by Qingpu District Government in Shanghai.In 2004 he took in charge of “Berlage Institure-MADA Studio”about historial protection and re-development in Xuhui District,Shanghai.
